Dross Management

We provide effective solutions for utilisation of Aluminium dross ensuring zero landfill

Aluminium dross, a byproduct of the aluminium smelting process, can be mechanically recycled to separate the residual aluminium metal from the aluminium oxide.

Globally 1 million tonnes of Aluminium dross per year is produced out of which 0.1 million tonnes is generated in India, that goes into landfill. This is a challenge because improper disposal in landfills contaminates the ground water. When in contact with water (during rainfall) hazardous gases such as phosphine and ammonia are produced – polluting the atmosphere.

Alset has deployed a multi stage process to tackle the challenge of Aluminium dross in an environmentally friendly manner and currently has an installed capacity of 20,000 MT.
